Water Bed vs. Roller Bed

Which is better a water bed or a roller bed? In a chiropractor's office there are two different beds. The water bed has heated water on top of the bed and it feels like you are floating on top of the bed itself. They put a cold pack on the area that is swollen or giving you problem. A pillow is placed under your knees so you will get the full effect of the heat and cold packs. Attached to the troubled area are tiny little electodes which are placed on the area giving you problems. This is an Electrical Nerve Stimulation Device. They set the timer for 5 to 10 minutes and you are going to feel the bed move. The bed gives you a swaying motion that absolutely puts you to sleep along with the feeling of your troubled area being motivated by little pricking motion. This is also necessary so it will loosen your joints and back area. If this is not done first, the chiropractor may have a tougher time giving you an adjustment.

The other bed is the roller bed. This is my favorite. They do the exact same procedure, electrical stimulation, pillow under the knees, cold or hot pack whichever is needed at the time. The only difference is the roller bed actually has rollers under your back and it feels like you are getting a neck and back massage. I don't want this to stop and when it does I am like Whew! That felt so good. How could anyone be afraid of a chiropractor. It is so relaxing.

Remember, cold is for swelling and heat is for pain. They even sell the cold and hot packs in the office along with pillows for your comfort. They also have excercise balls. When the need arises they can order a hand held TENS device. I will write another post to explain what the TENS device is and what it can do for you. Until then don't forget to make an appointment at Kurtz Chiropractic.

WHAT IS NEW AT DR. KURTZ OFFICE

Dr. Kurtz has added two new doctors on his payroll and he also has a Massage Therapist that comes in two days a week. Wow! They talk like she is great. That is the best of two worlds. I will get pictures and more information to post on this blog so you will know who it is and where they came from. Both are wonderful doctors and just as compassionate as Dr. Kurtz. Of course he would not hire anybody that was not compassionate anyway. Don't forget Kurtz Chiropractic Center is the place to go for your neck and back problems. More will be posted on the new changes so stay tuned.....................Oh yes don't forget to check out his website at http://wilsondrx.com/.
